Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Tang Tuck Cheong joined Universiti Malaya's Department of Economics and Applied Statistics on February 17, 2014. Before this, he was a senior lecturer at Monash University Malaysia, where he started as a tutor in July 2001. Dr. Tang earned his PhD in Economics from Monash University, Australia, in 2012, under Dietrich Karl Fausten, and received the Mollie Holman Doctoral Medal. His research focuses on open economy macroeconomics, including international trade topics like import demand functions and balance of payments sustainability. He has published extensively in refereed journals and presented at numerous international conferences. Dr. Tang serves on the editorial advisory boards of the Labuan Bulletin of International Business and Finance and the International Journal of Management Studies, and is an associate editor for the Journal of Economic Development. Outside academia, he practices Wing Chun and formerly collected collectible toys. |
