Biographical Sketch:
Rumi is a vice president and international economist with the Emerging Markets Research group at Goldman Sachs in New York. He has been mainly responsible for developing various quantitative models for forecasting and estimating equilibrium asset price models. Along with his collaborators, Rumi was part of the team that ranked first in emerging market currency strategy by the Institutional Investor in 2000, for the third consecutive year. Rumi has a Phd in econometrics from Cambridge, over 10 years of public sector experience, and an established track record of research with over 70 published articles in international refereed journals. In 1998, Rumi was admitted as a fellow to the Financial Management Association, and the Royal Statistical Society. He has recently been the recipient of three best paper prizes at internationally reputed annual finance conferences sponsored by the Chicago Stock Exchange, Financial Management Association and the SWFA respectively. |
